Bio

Hi! My name is Shagun Sharma (RP) and I am Indo-Canadian Psychotherapist based out of York Region. I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling from Yorkville University. At a young age, I found myself always being interested and invested in how I can help others- wanting to understand them, what influenced their thoughts and behaviours and lending an ear when they needed to talk. This interest in wanting to support others blossomed into a passionate career, where I can now proudly call myself a Registered Psychotherapist.

I have lived and worked in different areas across the GTA which has influenced my frameworks in being client centered; in a session with me, you can expect an environment that is productive, comfortable, at times humorous, supportive, and collaborative. I find that through collaboration, we can tailor and create a psychotherapeutic process that can be beneficial for you and result in more long-term influences, while also giving you a feeling of control and strength in your own narrative. I am very mindful of LGBTQIA+ issues, issues affecting marginalized groups, gender-based issues, and cultural issues. To me, being a psychotherapist means being a professional that can help support others on their journey, while giving my client’s the space explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences. I find your comfort and safety to be the utmost priority, while understanding that the first steps to therapy can be challenging.

I look forward to getting to know you and being a part of your story!
